The Undercover Eggplant company will no longer be so undercover after all. This amazing Cafe is unique and different in many ways to the Oneonta community. This hidden gem is very unfamiliar to the college student but very common to your local resident. This is a perfect place to grab some lunch throughout your day and enjoy a cold pasta salad to go with any meal. They are mostly known for their cold subs and salad and serves pizza as well. I interviewed a loyal customer who was in his late 50s who said
"This place is incredible, I come here and enjoy the quiet atmosphere this place has to offer". No wonder why many college students have not yet fully exploited this place because of the peaceful setting it haves to offer. I guess it is undercover to the local community after all.

Also the location is not very convenient for the common college student as well because it is a little far down chestnut and a car is recommended for transportation. If you have no access to a vehicle you can take public transportation and the west end bus can take you there. I guess this wonderful place is in far reach for a reason.
I am as well a loyal customer myself and make trips here every weekend or so to recover from my long weekends whenever I get the chance.

As you can see that is one of the many kinds of artwork that is presented within the Cafe. The paintings are unique in nature matching the style and theme of the business. The overall theme within the cafe is green and purple to symbolize the eggplant vegetable. Not only is there style different from any other cafe but there customer service as well. Unlike many other businesses in Oneonta they use a buzzer that goes off to let you know your food is ready. It brings and interactive element to your waiting experience. To my knowledge this is the only business in Oneonta that provides this service.

The menu is pretty straight forward and offers a variety of many different types of subs along with many different soups that is incorporated on a day to day basis. They offer chicken cutlet sandwiches and meatball subs as well. The unique names and titles of the subs relate to the Oneonta community in many ways. For example the "west end sandwich" that is in recognition to the "west end" bus. Also "The city of hills" to represent the town. My favorite meal is the "Oneonta Rueben" that is right above that offers breaded chicken cutlet, melted Swiss cheese, coleslaw and spicy mayonnaise. I recommend this sandwich to any first time comers or beginners and if you like a little spice in your food this is the order for you. Also if you ever come down make sure to grab a Calypso beverage as well. This is a juice drink that is very refreshing and helps a lot with hungover weekends and if you need that right fluid to enter your body to make you feel re energized. They offer many flavors that you dont see at your local store such as black cherry lemonade and triple melon lemonade. So come on down and discover the secrets of Oneonta and make the Undercover eggplant, not so undercover anymore.
