Why not spring clean and gain money with the second-hand boutique,
Shakedown Street, located on Main Street.
Shakedown Street is full from head to toe of vintage and
modern clothing ranging from: shoes, dresses, lingerie, pants, jewelry and so
much more. The clothing are second hand but in great condition and also name
brand. The prices were also half of the original price or even less.
Shakedown Street has zero tolerance for thieves. |
The first time I checked Shakedown Street was during my first semester at SUNY Oneonta. I was just checking out the different shops and what restaurants were around the town. I walked into a great welcoming environment.
As I started to look around, the worker at the cashier asked
myself and my friends if we need anything but we did not need help. We just
wanted to look around. I did not have the intention of buying anything but I
did once I found out about the one dollar room.

Shakedown Street is good with keeping the prices down and it
is easy for the people in the town of Oneonta to buy things. There are always a
fifth percent and seventy percent rack around the store with great items to
buy. There is also another discount section that makes the store really big, it
is called the ‘one dollar room’, and everything with an ‘X’ in that room is
only one dollar.
I did not expect to buy anything but I did get the cutest
denim jacket for only one dollar! If you enjoy making some money while getting
rid of some clothes from your home, Shakedown Street is the perfect place for
you.
A way you can make some easy money is you bring clothes that
matches the seasons. For an example, it is spring so they are only accepting
spring clothes. Bring stain and odor free clothes and set up an account with
the store. After, your clothes will be displayed in the store and in the first 45
days, the items are under your control. If a person buys your items in those 45
days, you get half of the money. But after 45 days, it ‘belongs to the store.’
