(Oneonta-NewYork) Located on the campus on SUNY Oneonta in the building of Alumni Hall lies this special Office. Most people who enter and leaves this building might have never step foot in this office. In there lies a secretary and rooms filled with terrific advisors. This office is in charge of the EOP students that enters the school with just enough for college but with help of the EOP staff the students are more than prepared. This office has been on this campus for years and have managed to bring a lot of minorities in school and mold a lot of student so that they are strong enough to leave out.

When you look down the hallways you notice the different boards and displays of information educational opportunities on the wall . One of the biggest aspect on the wall is the list of students in this program that have made to the honor roll.  Next to it is a bulletin wall with upcoming events and awards. It' is amazing to be able to walk pass and see you name on the wall for receiving good grades. Not only is it put on the wall but also the office sends you your certificates and recognition so you can hang up at home. "this little bit of encouragement can push a student a long way" said Glen Pichardo. This is true because I have with many of student blog about receiving the awards.
When students are free they stop by the office and sign in at the table to meet with an advisor. These terrific advisors are there from morning to afternoon waiting for students. When students come stop by they are able to talk to the advisors about completely anything. They check in on you with your work load, guide you to any place you need and attend any meeting you need them to be there with you in. "Every student deserve a leaning hand when needed" said Head of EOP Lynda Bassette.

This office creates a home type of environment for those incoming students and transferred students. When you walk into this office you are greeted by an amazing secretary. It is always clean and quiet in this office for some reason which is a big plus. As a freshman, this office helped me get through so many stressful times that I recommend any student in need of help to go speak with a counselor.
