Denise Richardson who is a reporter at The Daily Star explains “Altogether we have four reporters that cover important topics such as healthcare, education in the areas public schools, and the college news in the area including SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick college.” I spoke with Sam Pollak who works in the editorial department and asked him about what the transition to an online based newspaper was like and he said, “It’s been gradual and it has grown and reached equal importance with our print paper.” Michele Neighbour manager of the advertising department says, “ the newspaper itself is not dying, the delivery method is just simply changing.”
The online format for news has created many great opportunities for The Daily Star to reach their readers more efficiently and on a personal level. Sam Pollak adds, “It allows us to have the immediacy of getting the news out faster and it allows for more avenues for people to interact with us online.”
