Lyteshia M. Price: Success Is Only Determined By Your Motivation

They say that every school should have that one special star athlete and Lyteshia Price is that one lovable athlete. Lyteshia Price is the starting guard for the Oneonta Women Basketball Athletics team. While being able to maintain her athletic posture and her academic excellence, Lyteshia Price is also a full time mother that is raising a beautiful daughter, Lyteshia Price is a full time senior at SUNY Oneonta majoring in Physics and as you can tell she is a strong woman handling all that life has for her very well. Her newest accomplishment is that she received the SUNY SUNYAC 2016  Women's Player Of The Year Award. Ms. Price is a walking role model for those who believe single mothers can't lace up their sneakers to handle responsibilities on and off the court.

  "The best thing that happened in my life" said Lyteshia Price.  With a serious face she said this is the best thing that god has put in my life. She explains that before her baby came into this world, all her accomplishments was for her family. However ,  now she is able to create her legacy in this world. She has manage to raise a daughter that is heathy and filled with so much energy and charisma. Her daughter is known in and out of Oneonta because` Lyteshia Price makes sure her daughter is by her hip. Friends and family adore her daughter London. "My daughter will be the best she can be" Lyteshia tells us.                                                                                   She repeats this every time someone gives her daughter a complement about great she is. London is so lovable that friends don't mind babysitting while Lyteshia does the things needed  in order for her to be still successful.

Lyteshia Price is a full time student here in SUNY Oneonta. "Before my daughter school came first and now that she is here it only became 1.5" said Ms. Price. School is something that I always taken serious and will continue to take serious. Basketball is something that will remain a dream that she chases about , but she understands that an education will always be needed. Physics is a tough major for any student that is handling a lot because it deserve a lot of study time. She has spent her last two years chasing a degree while raising a child and being an athlete.

"Whatever you don't feed will eventually die, I.e negativity, painful relationships and sprits" said Ms. Price. She goes into details with me on how she had to really step it up a notch so that she wouldn't miss any other steps. Having a baby did not effect Ms. Price in any negative way because she has accomplished goals that many haven't. Leaving a legacy is something she tells everyone that she will do. She definitely has stared by leaving her mark here in Oneonta.
